Padel Gains Global Momentum: Australian Court Order Confirmed, Chinese Tournament System Matures

Introduction:
The year 2026 marks a watershed moment for the global padel community. As a full medal sport, Padel will achieve a historic “Grand Slam” – making its debut at the Mediterranean Games, the South American Games, the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games, and, most notably, the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. This remarkable milestone signals Padel’s universal recognition as a mainstream sport and injects new momentum into its global expansion, especially across Asia

In 2026, padel continues to demonstrate strong and sustained growth across the world.

In Australia, the sport is moving from “emerging activity” to “commercial reality.” The first 8-court order from Acenta Group to Australian partner Court Culture has been confirmed, with a total value of approximately €230,000. The courts will be manufactured by the renowned Spanish builder Padel Galis. This marks a tangible step forward for padel’s commercialisation in the Oceania region. The two parties have signed a five-year agreement targeting the sale of at least 300 courts across Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, China’s domestic padel tournament system is rapidly maturing. Pingyuan County in Shandong Province has recently hosted multiple high-level events, including CPT-1000, CPT-250, and an FIP Silver International tournament, attracting players from over 20 countries. This demonstrates the region’s strong event-hosting capabilities and its growing reputation as “China’s first county for padel.”

In addition, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province successfully held its first World Chinese Padel Invitational Tournament, bringing together nearly 200 Chinese players from more than 10 countries. The event filled a gap in the city’s professional sports calendar and leveraged Wenzhou’s connections as a “hometown of overseas Chinese” to build a new bridge for international sports exchange.

From commercial orders in Oceania to a growing tournament network in China, padel is integrating rapidly into the global sports landscape, showing strong market vitality and significant growth potential.

BEWE SPORT will continue to monitor global padel industry developments and bring you the latest updates.
